Government College of Education Burdwan:

Government College of Education, Burdwan is one of the premier institutions in teacher training education of West Bengal. Established on 1st September, 1964 our college has a long and rich tradition and history. It is in the centre of the town and yet detached from it. The College building is also grand and imposing. 

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates only (both Fresher & Deputed) with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree (means 50% marks in aggregate i.e. 50% of total marks of Honours subject + Elective subject) and in the Master's Degree in Science/ Social Science / Language will be eligible for application.There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST, PWD (Persons with disabilities) categories.

Age Limit:

Age of the Fresh candidates as on 30th June 2017 shall not exceed 38 years and there shall be relaxation of 5 years in favour of PWD category candidates.

Selection Procedure:

For Deputed Candidates of all Categories (Gen, SC, ST, & PWD), provisional merit list along with waiting list shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service. In case of same length of service of two or more candidates, the 2nd and 3rd  criteria shall be academic Score and Date of Birth respectively.

For Fresh Candidates of all categories to be computed as per the following norms

10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the M.P (S.E) or equivalent examination, 20% marks of the percentage of marks obtained at the H.S or equivalent examination, 20% BA, B.Sc (Gen), 30% BA/B.Sc (Hons or equivalent Examination) of the percentage of marks obtained. 35% of the percentage of marks obtained at Post Graduate Examination. Candidates are follow Rules of The Govt of West Bengal & the NCTE shall be followed.

Seat Reservation:

22% & 6% of total seats shall be kept reserved for SC & ST candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) respectively and PWD candidates will enjoy a 3% reservation.

Application Fee:

Online application fee is Rs. 300/- to be paid by challan in triplicate (one copy for Bank One for the Institution to be produced positively at the time of admission, and one copy for self) available in the website.

At The Time of Counselling :
1. Self attested photo copies of Admit Card Madhyamik or equivalent.
2. Mark Sheets (Both Sides) of all publicexaminations passed and Certificates of M.Phil, and/or Pd.D. (if any) and must produce the original copies.
