Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum marks required in the Master Degree or equivalent in the subject with -
For General candidates - at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade B in the UGC 7 point scale.
SC / ST / PD / OBC A / OBC B category - at least 50% or its equivalent grade.
Candidates who had obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19th September 1991 - at least 50% or its equivalent grade.

Selection Process:
For Sociology and Philosophy - Selection of candidates will be made in order of merit, ascertained on the basic of 50% weight on marks obtained in an admission test and 50% weight on aggregate marks in Master programme.
For Economics, English, History, Sanskrit, Bengali, Comparative Literature, International Relations - Selection of candidates will be made in order of merit ascertained on the basic of marks obtained in an admission test.
The candidates under General category must secure at least 50% marks in the written admission test for consideration in the merit list for admission.

Application Fees:
Candidates required to pay the Application Fees through Online payment mode through SBI I Collect System (using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking). After successful payment insert the fee details (Payment Reference No) for future use. Last Date of Payment through online is 2022.

How to Print Admit Card for Admission Test:
To print admit card candidate have to upload the fees deposit details in website. Click the Login option of this website, and log into Candidates portal using Application No / Login ID at any time. In the Acknowledgement and Admit Card page upload fee deposit details by clicking Insert Fee Details.
On submission of fees deposit details, the Admit Card (where applicable) will be generated.

Document Required, At The Time of Counselling & Admission :
1. A print out of the online application.
2. Three (3) recent passport size photographs.
3. Online payment receipt.
4. All original marksheet, certificates including SC/ST/OBC A/OBC B certificates from competent authorities in the names of the candidates themselves where applicable, are to be shown at the time of interview for verification.
