Jogamaya Devi College:

The pressing demand for women’s education in South Calcutta led the authorities of Asutosh College to open the Women’s Section in July, 1932. On completion of its 25th year of existence, it was felt that this section of the College should be run as a separate Women’s College, with a separate establishment of its own. In 1957 the College was separated from the Men’s College and affiliated to Calcutta University as Asutosh College for Women (1958), subsequently renamed Jogamaya Devi College.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who have passed H.S or its equivalent examination (10+2) from WBCHSE / NIOS / IGNOU / ICSE / ISC / CBSE / Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya / Netaji Open University or Others Board / Council recognised by Calcutta University in 2022 are eligible for application.

Students Passing 10+2 level Vocational course may apply for admission to this college for session 2022 in appropriate undergraduate.

Seat Reservation:

Reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC A, OBC B and Physically Challenged candidates will be accordance to the existing rules of the Government of West Bengal. A certificate from the competent authority must be produced during counselling for claiming such reservation. No application will be allowed to take advantage of more than one quota of reservation. Candidates having all cast & category certificate issued by the States other than West Bengal will be treated as General category.
