Sanskrit College, Kolkata:

The Sanskrit College and University (Erstwhile Sanskrit College) is a specialised State Government administered Liberal Arts University offering an Undergraduate Degree in Sanskrit language, Pali Language, Linguistics and Ancient Indian and World History. It is one of the afflicted colleges of the University of Calcutta. Founded on 1st January 1824.

B.A. Honours in - Sanskrit, English, Bengali, Linguistics, Ancient Indian and World History (AIWH), Pali, Philosophy, T.O.L (in each Specialization i.e, Advaita-Vedanta, Vyakarama, Sahitya).

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who have passed HS or its equivalent examination (10+2) from WBCHSE / NIOS / IGNOU / ICSE / ISC / CBSE / Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya / NSOU or others Board / Council recognised by the Calcutta University in 2022 are eligible for application.

Students passing 10+2 level with Vocational course may apply for admission to this college for the session 2022 in appropriate undergraduate course.

Seat Reservation:

Reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC A, OBC B and Physically Challenged candidates will be accordance to the existing rules of the Government of West Bengal. A Certificate from the competent authority must be produced during counselling for claiming such reservation. No application will be allowed to take advantage of more than one quota reservation. Candidates having SC / ST / OBC A / OBC B certificate issued by the states other than West Bengal will be treated as General Category for Admission.

Application Fee:

The application will be considered invalid without payment of application fee (Including Bank Transaction Charge) to the Bank of Account of the College either Online (through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking) or Offline (Bank Challan).

Merit List:

The Merit List of valid applicants will be published online website of college on date as per the published admission scheduled, the merit lists will be prepared in the descending order of merit index. In case a tie, precedence will be given to higher subject marks, wherever applicable.

Counselling:

Students must have bring the print copy of the application Form, Application fee receipt, Madhyamik Admit Card, Madhyamik & HS Mark Sheet ((Original & Xerox Copy), Character certificate from last attendant school, Cast Certificate, Physical Handicapped Certificate, or all equivalent papers wherever applicable along with all original to the college during verification of documents, Counselling for approval to admission.

2. Madhyamik/Secondary Admit Card or pass Certificate or any other valid age proof certificate.

6. Print-out of Application Form with photograph affixed and Applicant's Copy of Bank Challan.
7. Copy of Aadhar Card, if candidate has Aadhar Card.
