WBBSE:

The Board of West Bengal Secondary Education was established in 1951 under an act of the State Legislature called the West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The Board inaugurated by the then Governor of West Bengal on 3rd May 1951 and the board started functioning under the Chairmanship of Sri Apurba Kumar Chanda. The basic task before the board was twofold- To Regulate, control and develop secondary education of the State & To conducted the School Final Examination.

Previously this was done  by the Calcutta University but recent time the Board is a Self developed.

Subject of Madhyamik Examination:

The Standard of 10 Examination / madhyamik Examination was conducted based on the combined Syllabi of Class 10. Model Structure of Question papers for M.P (S.E) is hereby uploaded in accordance with new carricullam and syllabus of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. The carriculam is based on Compulsory papers & Additional Subject. Details of Subject is given below.

Compulsory Subjects - Mathematics, Life Science, Physical Science, History, Geography, First language (Bengali / English/ Gujarati / Hindi / Modern Tibetan / Nepali / Oriya / Gurumukhi / Tamil / Telegu / Urdu / Santali) & Second language (English / Bengali / Nepali, if English is 1st Language).

Additional Subject - Physical Education & Work Education.
