Polba Mahavidyalaya, The only undergraduate college in the polba-dadpur Block in the district of Hooghly in West Bengal embarked on its journey from 19th September 2005 with the goal of providing all round opportunity and access to higher education to a greater population especially those from the marginalised and backward communities.

English - 42 seat - (UR-23, OBC A-4, OBC B-3, SC-9, ST-3).
History - 40 seat - (UR-22, OBC A-4, OBC B-3, SC-9, ST-2).
Philosophy - 45 seat - (UR-22, OBC A-4, OBC B-4, SC-10, ST-3).
Political Science - 25 seat - (UR-14, OBC A-2, OBC B-2, SC-6, ST-1).
Sanskrit - 55 seat - (UR-30, OBC A-6, OBC B-4, SC-12, ST-3).
Geography - 26 seat - (UR-13, OBC A-3, OBC B-2, SC-6, ST-2).
B.A. General Stream :
General - 444 seat - (UR-243, OBC A-44, OBC B-32, SC-98, ST-27).

Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates who have passed H.S or its equivalent examination (10+2) from WBCHSE / NIOS / IGNOU / ICSE / ISC / CBSE / Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya / Netaji Open University or Others Board / Council reconized by the University of Burdwan in 2023  are eligible for application.
Students passing 10+2 level with Vocational course may apply for admission to this college for the session of 2023 in appropriate undergraduate.

Seat Reservation 
Reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC A, OBC B and Physically Challenged candidates will be accordance to the existing rules of the Government of west Bengal. A certificate from the competent authority must be produced during counselling for claiming such reservation. No application will be allowed to take advantage of more than one quota of reservation. Candidates having certificate issued by the states other than West Bengal will be treated as General category for admission.

Application Fee
The application will be considered invalid without payment of application fee (Including Bank Transaction Charge) to the Bank of Account of College either Online (through Debit & Credit Card) or Offline Bank Challan.

B.A. Honours - Rs. 2260/-
B.Sc. Honours - Rs. 2625/-
B.A. General - Rs. 2185/-
B.Sc. General - Rs. 2600/-

Provisional Merit List : 
The Merit List of valid applicants will be published online website of college on date as per th published admission scheduled, the Merit Lists lists will be prepared in the descending order of merit index. In case a tie, precedence will be given to higher subject marks, wherever applicable.
